Book Lounge Holds Grand Opening, Turkey Contest

CreativeMindz Book Lounge is holding a Grand Opening of their Farmville, North Carolina, location alongside a chance to win a turkey for five lucky families.

The Grand Opening celebration is December 6, 2016, at the CreativeMindz Farmville, 3870B South Main Street, Farmville NC. This is the second book lounge to open in 2016. The Farmville location’s hours are 12-6pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.

In preparation for Thanksgiving, and in advance of the Grand Opening, stop into the Wilson NC location and take a chance on winning a turkey for your Thanksgiving dinner. Make a purchase between now and 5pm on November 19, 2016, when the winners will be drawn.Five turkeys will be given away, thanks to the support of Cultivating Change II, Inc.

CreativeMindz Book Lounges in Wilson and Farmville is a unique bookstore offering read out loud, literacy workshops, free e-book reads, book clubs, entertainment, and opportunities for all ages. With a slogan of “Open Books Stimulates Open Minds,” both locations encourage continued academic growth by recognizing high school seniors who have passion in writing and strive for excellence throughout their school year. As part of their 2017 offerings, the book lounges will offer storytelling and children’s activities, and provide school supplies with books purchased. These bookstores are the brain child of local author and activist, DuWanda Epps. Mrs. Epps also founded the Ur Worthy Movement against domestic violence and sexual assault, and worked with Profit Cultivating Change II which assisted families in need.

In October 2016, Mrs. Epps was awarded the Community Career Woman of the Year award by the Rocky Mount Business and Professional Women’s Club in honor of National Business Women’s Week.
