Summer Reading 2016 is much more than just reading. Engaging events cover topics from sports to food and there’s even a movie each week!

Braswell Memorial Library is located at 727 N Grace Street, Rocky Mount NC — it’s about a two-minute drive from Downtown Rocky Mount to their parking lot.

The Library Olympics — June 22, 2016

Celebrate the Summer Olympics by competing in the Library Olympics! Join the fun 3-5pm in the Warner Room.

Olympic events include the book cart relay, book stacking, speed shelving, and a library scavenger hunt.  Olympic themed snacks will be served.

Meet the Harlem Globetrotters — June 30

Meet and greet members of the world famous Harlem Globetrotters — Michael Douglas and Larry “Shorty” Coleman — and experience “Globetrotter Magic” through their unique form of inspiration and entertainment. This special meeting is 3-5pm in the Warner Room.

Minecraft Hunger Games — July 13

The worlds of Minecraft and the Hunger Games collide in player vs. player challenge.  May the odds ever be in you favor! These special Hunger Games are scheduled for 3-5pm in the Braswell Library Computer Lab.

Smoothie Making 101 — July 20

Sample a variety of delicious smoothies, and then learn how to make them at home! Instruction provided by Remedy This Naturally. Scheduled 3-5pm in the Warner Room.

Collectible Card Game Tournament — July 27

Join the group and play card games featuring Yu-Gi-Oh! and Magic the Gathering! This tournament is being held 3-5pm in the Braswell Library’s Young Adult area.

Sports Movie Nights

Come by the library’s computer lab each week for a different sports-themed movie, 5:30-7:30pm.
