By Jan Mills

The Town of Spring Hope is gearing up for the second annual Old Fashioned Christmas in Spring Hope. This event is organized by the Spring Hope Area Chamber of Commerce with the support of churches in the community. Come spend some time on Main Street in Spring Hope NC on December 11, 2015, 5:30-8pm.

The Old Fashioned Christmas event features horse drawn cart rides through town, local choirs, lighting of the town Christmas tree, reading of the Birth of Christ, and a visit from ol’ St. Nick himself.

There will also be a Children’s Scavenger Hunt, Christmas face painting, Christmas music, food, Christmas lights, Christmas dancers, and much more!

All the day’s events are free to the public. Vendors will offer food, Christmas decor, and more.

More information on the Town of Spring Hope may be read at http://www.springhope.net/. The town’s website describes its location, “Half way between Raleigh NC and Greenville NC, Spring Hope invites traveler, antique collectors and the curious to experience a little bit of small town North Carolina. Take a side trip that is honestly just one minute north on 581 just off I-64 to or from the beach. Shop at family owned stores; visit the Historical Society; find medical attention; or just take a leisurely walk around town and see why some people wouldn’t live any other place.”

Spring Hope is located in Nash County, North Carolina, just a stone’s throw from Zebulon, for visitors coming along I-64 from Raleigh NC, and just after Nashville NC, from visitors coming the other way from Rocky Mount NC.

The town is also known for its Fall offerings including a Pumpkin Festival.  For vendors and sponsors interested in the 2016 Spring Hope National Pumpkin Festival, organized by the Spring Hope Area Chamber of Commerce, visit the event on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/events/863448700435808/.
