
The Franklin County Writers’ Guild is hosting DD’s Starving Writers Contest. This is a one-time only fiction contest. Submissions must be fiction, short stories or novel chapters not previously published, with a maximum length of 3,000 words.
Submissions will be accepted starting Saturday, December 1, 2018. Entries must be received by Wednesday, May 1, 2019.
This Writers’ Guild contest will award prizes for:
- First place — $500
- Second place — $250
- Third place– $100
Winners will be announced on Thursday, August 1, 2019 and the prizes will be awarded in late November at the annual County Lines: A Literary Journal book launch party in Franklin County, North Carolina.
To enter, email entries to Starvingwriters2020@gmail.com. Entries must be double-spaced, use a 12-point font, and be “blind submissions” — author contact information on a cover page but not on the short story or novel chapter pages.
