East Regional Library, located at 946 Steeple Square Court, in Knightdale, North Carolina, offers events for adults, teens, and young children including age-appropriate story times at the library. Listed below are October events, listed by age group.

In addition to the events listed below, the library is open for reading, browsing, and other services daily:

Adult Services

In Your Neighborhood: Local History (October 11, 2017 @ 7-8:30pm)

History is not just for books!  Learn about local history from area experts. Registration requested.

Astronomy (October 25, 2017 @ 7-8pm)

Learn about our galactic neighborhood from local experts. Members of the Raleigh Astronomy Club will teach the basics of stargazing and amateur astronomy. Registration requested.

Telling YOUR Story: writing your memoir & family history (October 29, 2017 @ 2pm)

Join Carla Stancil President of WC Genealogical Society to learn about writing your family history.

Marketing Essentials for Entrepreneurs (October, 31, 2017 @ 6:30-8:30pm)

This workshop will cover topics including crafting your marketing message, identifying your target market, determining your unique differentiators and marketing strategies for a tight budget. You will learn why customers should buy from you and how to position your products/services against competitors. Registration Requested.

Youth Services

13th Annual Moonlight Walk: A Pirate’s Life (October 10, 2017  @ 6-8pm)

Please join us for our 13th-annual Moonlight Walk at the library.  There will be live entertainment with music by The Motley Tones, Child-friendly crafts, a Pirate Trail Walk, Puppet Shows.

Story Times

Baby Storytime (Tuesdays and Wednesdays @ 11:30am)

Babies and their caregivers are invited to participate in a 20 minute lapsit program that incorporates age appropriate books, music, rhymes, and movement.

Toddler Storytime (Tuesdays and Wednesdays @ 9:30am and 10:30am; Fridays @ 10:30am and 11:30am)

Children from walkers to age 3 and their caregivers are invited to participate in a 25 minute interactive program that incorporates age appropriate books, music, rhymes, and movement.

Preschool Storytime (Mondays @ 10:30am and 11:30am; Thursdays @ 9:30am, 10:30am, and 11:30am)

Children ages 3-5 and their caregivers are invited to participate in an interactive program that incorporates age appropriate books, songs, and movement to nurture pre-reading skills.

Family Storytime (Saturdays @ 10:30am)

Young children and their families are invited to participate in an interactive program that incorporates age appropriate books, songs and movement to nurture pre-reading skills.

ABC Craft and Learn: A Kindergarten Readiness Program (Saturdays @ 11:30am)

Children ages 3-5 and their caregivers are invited to participate in an interactive alphabet-based program to nurture pre-reading skills and to develop fine motor skills through writing, play, and an alphabet craft.

Ready, Set, School Community Playdate (October 21, 2017 @ 11:30am-1:30pm)

Join Marbles Kids Museum at the library for family play to support kids ages 3-5 in getting ready for school.

Family Super Special: October 4, 2017 @ 6pm)

The Hitchhikers Robotics group is a high school robotics team that builds and competes with robots on the national level. Students will demonstrate their robotic skills to young children and their families. Family Super Specials feature enriching experiences in art, music, science and more.

School-Aged

K-2nd Adventures (Tuesdays @ 6pm) and 3rd-5th Adventures (Thursdays @ 4:30pm)

K-2nd and 3rd-5th grade kids read, create, discover and explore through books, activities and more.

Halloween Hoot (October 25-31, 2017)

All Baby, Toddler, Preschool and Family Storytimes will celebrate Halloween with Halloween-themed storytimes followed by a costume parade and trick-or-treating.

Halloween Hoopla (October 26, 2017 @ 6-7pm)

Dare to listen to spooky stories, create creepy crafts and tempt yourself with treats at this Halloween themed party for school-aged kids.  Costumes admired but not required.
