The Franklin County Arts Council (FCAC), based in Louisburg, North Carolina, announces their October 2021 Artist of the Month: Dawn Lancaster. Meet Dawn at a special reception, sign up to attend her workshop, or stop by the FCAC Gallery on the Hill where her works will be on display October 1-31, 2021.
Dawn Lancaster is a self-taught Mixed Media Artist who enjoys a variety of mediums . She loves playing and exploring with textures, mark making and a variety of mediums (papers, acrylic, oils, water colors, cold wax, encaustic) in her art work. Dawn’s art is inspired by nature and her love of scenic views of mountains and oceans. She is from Youngsville, NC.
FCAC’s Gallery on the Hill is open Thursdays and Fridays (noon-4pm) and Saturday (11am-3pm). The gallery address is 99 S Bickett Blvd, Louisburg, NC. (Turn right just before the traffic lights at Nash Street & Bickett Blvd, and drive up the hill behind the Ag Extension complex. Or, FCAC may also be reached from Tanglewood Drive.)

Painted Papers Collage Class
Saturday, October 9, 2021 @ 1-3pm
Attend this class instructed by Dawn Lancaster and have fun creating your own painted papers using a variety of Art mediums (acrylic paints, Geli Plate, markers, pens, etc.). Create a 5×7 landscape with 8×10 mat (included).
Participants may take home several fun painted papers to create art at home. Supplies are included with the workshop fee.
This workshop will be held in the FCAC Gallery on the Hill.
Registration is required. Open to ages 10 through adult, this event is limited to 8 participants. The workshop is $35 for FCAC members, or $45 for non-members. See details, register, and pay via the FCAC website.
Meet The Artist at the Gallery On the Hill

Stop by the Gallery on the Hill to meet Dawn Lancaster and view her art on display, or purchase a work from the gallery for your home. Entry to the gallery is free, no registration is necessary, and light refreshments will be provided.
