Hurricane Matthew blew in Saturday, October 8, 2016, and forced the Franklin County Arts Council Photography Guild to cancel the reception for their fourth-annual photography show; but, not before the twenty-eight photos entered by nine local photographers were hung and judged on Friday night!
Jim Liestman was the big winner this year. He won first place in the color division with his photo Wetlands Sunset, and first place in the black and white division with his photo Serenity. His Wetland Sunset was the Best in Show.
In the black and white category, second place went to Donna Campbell Smith with Wee Little Bear. Third place went to Bob Ringham for Lady in the Woods, and fourth to Pamela Andrejev for Calhoun Square, Savannah.
In the color division, second went to Karla Jackson with 10,000 Feet above the Gulf. Third went to Jim Liestman for Floating and fourth to Donna Campbell Smith for Safe in Harbor.
The show will remain in the Back Gallery at FCAC’s headquarters at 22 S Main Street, in Franklinton, North Carolina, through October 28, 2016.
The public is invited to come by the gallery to see the show and vote for The People’s Choice Award, which will be announced at the end of the month.
The gallery is open Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 10:30am until 5pm.
