
Indigo Moon Film Festival announced today that one of their films Boxed which will screen at the 4th-annual film festival is now Qualified and has been submitted to the 92nd Academy Awards For your consideration (FYC) (Best Short Film – Live Action)- 2020.
Boxed is a fictionalized short film based on the true story of the terrifying daring escape of Henry “Box” Brown, who used creativity to escape from slavery in 1849 by mailing himself to freedom. Boxed has 50 Official Selections with 16 nominations and 6 wins in just one year in the festival circuit.
Boxed will show during Indigo Moon Film Festival in Short Block 5 on Saturday, October 12, 2019, at 5:30pm in the Loge (above the CAMEO) downtown.
Indigo Moon Film Festival is October 11-13, 2019 in historic downtown Fayetteville, NC. The festival was started in 2015 to fill a need for this under-represented cultural art in this region. This year, 60+ films and shorts will be screened.
An Opening Night Film and Reception on Friday provides the kick off for the festival.
On Saturday, IMFF brings in more than 80 films from around the world to screen in 4 walkable venues. Filmmakers provide insight during post-screening Q&A sessions.
The Awards Banquet is held on Sunday and acknowledges filmmakers with six Jury Awards and six Audience Awards. An encore screening of the Jury Award winning films follows.
