Youngsville, North Carolina resident, Jackie Dove-Miller, has released her spiritual memoir, Breathing New Air: A Spiritual Transformation through Divorce. It details the lessons she learned and the personal and spiritual growth that occurred after her 1980 divorce.
Dove said, “It took me almost twenty years to write this book; not because the story was too difficult to tell but because I wanted to make sure I had told it as honestly and completely as possible. My goal was to help others who are going through personal struggles that require deep introspection and a spiritual overhaul.”
Dove’s memoir begins with her learning that her husband of only 16 months is contemplating divorce. It takes the reader through her grieving process and shows how she rebuilt her life and gained a new spiritual perspective as a single woman. “Even though this is my story,” Dove explained, “I changed the names of all the characters. The places and events are all real. The chapter titles show the major lessons that I learned along the way.”
Jackie Dove-Miller is a 1969 graduate of Savannah High School in Grifton, NC, but now lives in Franklin County, NC. She earned her BA from St. Andrews Presbyterian College in Laurinburg, NC and her MA from NC State University in Raleigh, NC.
