Rocky Mount, NC: Residents’ Housing Repair Applications Due by Sept. 1

The city of Rocky Mount, North Carolina’s Community and Business Development Department is currently accepting applications for its “Urgent Repair Program” through Monday, September 1, 2020. Applications also are being accepted for the “Housing Rehab Matching Rebate Program” — which will continue until all funds are exhausted.

The Urgent Repair Program offers a forgivable loan up to $12,500 to assist with the rehabilitation of deteriorated homes owned and occupied by low-income residents. Eligible properties are those located within the city limits of Rocky Mount and are single-family
residences or manufactured homes. Eligible repairs include but are not limited to:

  • Flooring
  • Roof Repair
  • HVAC, electrical systems upgrades
  • Enter and exiting accessibility features

The Housing Rehab Matching Rebate Program offers a 50/50 matching rebate to help homeowners repair and rehabilitate homes that are at least 50 years old.

Eligible properties must be located within the city limits of Rocky Mount. Repairs include but are not limited to:

  • Windows and doors replacements
  • Lead, mold, or asbestos abatement
  • Landscaping
  • Exterior painting

Applications for both programs may be retrieved from the Community and Business Development Department office on the second floor of the Frederick E. Turnage Municipal Building (331 S Franklin Street, Rocky Mount, NC) or online at  rockymountnc.gov/departments___services/community_business_development.
