Upcoming events offer Rocky Mount NC residents a chance to participate in historic preservation activities, and enjoy a community festival celebrating Juneteenth.
Historic Preservation Scavenger Hunt
An Architectural Photo Scavenger Hunt, will take place weekly throughout the month of May. Photos featuring cropped images of different properties for participants to identify will be posted on the city’s Facebook page. Photos will also be placed on C.I.T.Y. TV 19 each Monday, followed by an unveiling of the full image a few days later. The image will include a caption revealing the location and information about the property.
This Place Matters
The city will join in the national campaign to encourage people to celebrate the places that are meaningful to them and to the local community in the “This Place Matters” Photo Campaign.
Download a ‘This Place Matters’ sign from the city’s website, take photos at the places that matter most to you, and share your photos and story online with the hashtag #ThisPlaceMatters.
On social media, be sure to tag the city of Rocky Mount and your location, so that your special place gets its proper shine. On Facebook, find the city at Rocky Mount-Government Offices. On Twitter, see @citybeattweet.
