The city of Rocky Mount Parks and Recreation Department will host a Family Campout beginning Friday, June 8, 2018 at 5pm, and continuing overnight until Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 10am. Join the fun at the Rocky Mount Athletic Stadium, located at 600 Independence Drive, Rocky Mount, North Carolina.

The campout will include games and other activities, a campfire and a glow walk. The event will also consist of the popular camping snack, s’mores, a dinner on Friday, and breakfast Saturday morning.

Says Emily Randell, recreation services supervisor for Rocky Mount Parks and Recreation:

“This campout is a way for families to spend time together. Camping is also a way for children to learn valuable lessons while enjoying nature, and for families to create lasting memories.”

Participants must bring their own camping gear. Pre-registration is required by Friday, June 1, 2018. To register, visit one of these locations:

  • Parks and Recreation Department, located on the third floor of City Hall, 331 S Franklin Street, Rocky Mount NC
