The Town of Zebulon, North Carolina will be holding an in-person Downtown Visioning Session on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, 6-8pm. The visioning session is part of North Carolina Main Street’s requirement for Zebulon to participate as a Downtown Associate Community (DAC), and is presented in conjunction with NC Main Street.
In January of 2021, the Town of Zebulon joined NC Main Street. As a DAC member, Downtown Zebulon will participate in the three-year DAC program, which offers training, networking, and technical expertise to communities with populations of fewer than 50,000. Chosen after a competitive application process, the Town of Zebulon will receive technical assistance from the NC Main Street Center.
The program uses a process pioneered by the National Main Street Center® that focuses on organization, design, promotion (marketing), and economic vitality. Upon completing the three-year program and meeting the requirements, the Town becomes eligible to apply for official designation as a Main Street community. The DAC program will provide guidance and support to generate new businesses, jobs, and investment in Downtown Zebulon. The program adds valuable tools to the Town’s existing economic development efforts, providing the foundation for long-term success.
To date, DAC meetings have been held virtually. This August 18th event is the first in-person meeting. Participants will identify economic drivers, assets, and liabilities, and begin to develop a vision for the future. Attend and join the conversation. As a business, community leader, civic group, interested party, or local resident, this meeting offers an opportunity to share ideas about current conditions and a vision of Zebulon’s downtown future.
Space is limited at this in-person meeting, so register to reserve a seat ASAP at publicinput.com/visioningsession. The meeting agenda is available on that registration web page.
The meeting will take place inside Olde Raleigh Distillery (Society Room), located at 209 N Arendell Avenue, Zebulon, NC. Brandon McCraney and Olde Raleigh Distillery are sponsoring this event.
