In honor of those who served, North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper ordered all United States and North Carolina flags at state facilities be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset today — Friday, July 27, 2018 — for National Korean War Veterans Armistice Day.

The North Carolina Department of Military and Veteran Affairs estimates that over 100,000 North Carolinians served in the Korean War, resulting in more than 700 North Carolina casualties.
