The North Carolina Cooperative Extension is holding the first Statewide Industrial Hemp Field Day. This new event is scheduled for August 16, 2017, 5-7:30pm, at the Piedmont Research Station, 8350 Sherrills Ford Road, Salisbury, North Carolina.
Salisbury is located in Rowan County, northeast of Charlotte NC.
North Carolina State University specialists scheduled to attend include:
- Dr. Angela Post — Extension Specialist: Small Grains
- Dr. Keith Edmisten — NCSU Professor of Crop Science and Cotton Extension Specialist
- Dr. Jeanine Davis — Extension Specialist: Herbs, Organics, Specialty Crops, Vegetables
Industrial hemp farming-related topics to be covered include:
- Hemp Variety Selection
- Hemp S and N fertility
- Hemp Planting Population
- Pre- and Post-emergent herbicide evaluations
