It’s time for the annual Birds, Brews & BBQ at Sylvan Heights Bird Park in Halifax County, North Carolina. Tickets are on sale for the March 14, 2020 afternoon of bird-watching followed by food, drink, music, and more.

Tickets include admission to Sylvan Heights Bird Park beginning at 3pm, so come out to see the birds throughout the park. Then, 5-8pm, enjoy Eastern NC BBQ, have a brew or two (if of age), and listen to the music. Games will be available, too.

Local cooks will be competing, so be sure to try each of the selections available, then vote for your favorite barbecues! Note that this year, People’s Choice voting is $1 per vote to raise funds for a special park project. Bring dollars, or larger bills, to cast your votes and help the park.

Adult (13 & up) tickets are $30, children’s (12 & under) tickets are $15. Park Member discounts are available.  Tickets may be purchased in-advance via EventBrite. Note that Birds, Brews & BBQ is expected to sell out again this year, and generally sells out a week or more in advance! A total of 400 tickets have been made available for the 2020 event.

Sylvan Heights Bird Park is located at 500 Sylvan Heights Park Way, Scotland Neck, North Carolina. The park is home to 2,000+ birds from around the world, some the subject of conservation work. The park holds educational events —  on birds, ecology, etc. — throughout the year.

Visit the park’s website to see what else is happening. (Bird keeper talks, Ukrainian Egg Decorating, scavenger hunt, and other fun stuff.)
