
The Children’s Museum and Science Center, part of Imperial Centre for the Arts and Sciences, is offering science classes, nature walks, and a tea party in March. Events that are part of a series include future dates below.
The address for events is 270 Gay Street, Rocky Mount NC, unless otherwise noted in the event description. Note that museum admission may be required for free events. Admission is $6 per person, with kids 2 and under free.

Note that in July, they will be offering summer camps with the theme, Jedi Master Engineering with LEGOs, for $115 per child.
KinderScience Classes
Preschool-age students (ages 3-5) will explore a different topic each session through hands on activities, games, crafts and experiments. Classes meet one Tuesday morning each month. This is a parent/child program, no pre-registration is required, however seating is limited.
KinderScience classes are held 10:30-11:15am on these dates:

Nature Walk with a Naturalist
Join Children’s Museum staff for a Nature Walk through Battle Park, 1308 Falls Road, Rocky Mount NC. Identify and learn about trees, plants and the signs of the seasons in nature.
Nature walks are open to all ages, not just children. Come and meet the group the boat ramp parking lot at Battle Park, and the walk will commence from there.
Nature Walks are scheduled for 10am-noon on the following dates:
- Saturday, March 3, 2018
- Saturday, April 7, 2018
- Saturday May 5, 2018
- Saturday, June 2, 2018
Participation is free for all ages, and no admission fees are charged by the museum.
Princess Tea Party
The Children’s Museum & Science Center cordially invites children ages 3-10 to attend a Princess Tea Party on one special date: Saturday, March 3, 2018, 10am-noon.
Your attendance is requested for tasty treats, visits with royalty, magical crafts, and unlimited play in the “Kingdom” (aka the Children’s Museum). Princess attire is “always admired, but never required!”
Fee is $10 per family (up to 3 people, $5 each additional child). Registration and payment must be made by 5pm on February 28 to hold spaces.
Register ASAP, as seating is limited.
