Artists Gather for Lab, Equity Theatre Discussion

Director and Voice Coach Ray Shell is starting the Total Artist in Production (TAIP) Lab, with an eye toward building an Equity theatre company in Wilson NC.

The first TAIP LAB is December 17, 2015.  This initial Lab will be at Christ Temple of Praise, located at 301 W Green Street in Wilson NC.

This initial TAIP Lab is designed to be the starting point of creating a professional Equity Theatre Company in the Wilson-Nash-Rocky Mount area.  As an Equity theatre, productions would follow Actors Equity Association union rules for actor working conditions and minimum pay rates. All those interested in exploring the idea of a regional theatre in Wilson are invited to attend the TAIP Lab December 17 at Christ Temple of Praise.

Following this first meeting, future TAIP Lab meetings will be held every Thursday evening, 7:30pm to 10:30pm. These meetings are likely to be held at The BARN, located at 209 Douglas Street in Wilson NC.

Organizer Ray Shell studied acting, literature, and mass communications at Emerson College, Boston Mass and graduated with a BFA in 1974. Along with TV and theatre experience, Mr. Shell served as the Vocal Coach for BBC Television Series The Voice 2012; and as Voice Coach for Jahmene Douglas, an X-Factor finalist in 2012.
