Breckenridge Film Festival Issues Call for Entries

According to the Colorado Office of Film, Television, & Media (coloradofilm.org), the Call for Entries is open for the 2016 Breckenridge Film Festival, held each year in Breckenridge CO.

Films will be accepted in traditional categories, including drama, short drama, comedy, short comedy, documentary,  spiritual (“Films of the Human Spirit”), and adventure/outdoors. The newest addition to the line-up is animation. A list of film categories, along with details like running time, may be found at www.breckfilmfest.com/submissions-for-2016-open.html. This year’s festival is set for Sept. 15-18, 2016. Visit www.breckfilmfest.com or www.withoutabox.com for guidelines for entries and to make a submission. Entries must be received no later than May 13, 2016 to be considered for this year’s festival, with an early-bird deadline of Friday, February 5, 2016. Filmmakers are notified around 

“Best of Fest” awards are given in each category, with additional awards given throughout the festival, including”Audience Awards” for first, second, and third place films.

In addition to film screenings the Breckenridge Film Festival includes educational workshops. According to the website, “Writers, directors, producers and performing artists attend to discuss their work with audiences in informal sessions following film screenings, at receptions and film forums.”

The Breckenridge Film Festival celebrates independent film for the community, visitors and filmmakers the third weekend of September.  The multi-day festival provides a diverse film experiences, presented in the Colorado mountains.
