The Greenville Jaycees will be hosting the Squawk & Squeal plate sale on Saturday, May 15, 2021, beginning at noon, at Third Street Education Center, 600 W 3rd Street, Greenville, North Carolina.
The plate sale’s purpose is to raise money for Third Street Education Center. Third Street Education Center provides workforce development for the Greenville area, a school for boys that focuses on character and spiritual development along with high academic standards, and functions as a community support center for continued education for children and adults.
“The Third Street Education Center family is so thankful to be the recipient of the Greenville Jaycees Squawk & Squeal event,” said Bob Wynn, Third Street Education Center executive director.
“We so appreciate the generosity of local sponsors whose contribution will allow us to pursue our mission to see generations transformed by the gospel as we educate and equip in ways that bring dignity and hope.”
With the advent of COVID-19 last year, the Greenville Jaycees have had to pivot to keep supporting local nonprofit organizations. The Squawk & Squeal is actually an iteration of the organization’s annual Shuck’n’Pluck that could not happen due pandemic restrictions.
“We are happy to be able to host Squawk & Squeal to benefit Third Street Education Center, which ultimately benefits our entire community,” said Melinda Sampson, vice president of individual development of the Greenville Jaycees.
The plates are $10 and will include pork BBQ and grilled chicken, mac and cheese, green beans, a roll and a doughnut. It is first come, first serve and payments can be cash, check, or Venmo (do not Venmo in advance).
