Event To Positively Impact Local Food and Farm Economy
The downtown state-of-art-facility, Rocky Mount Event Center, will host the Cultivating Community Through Food: NC Food Council Gathering on December 5-6, 2019. This special council gathering will bring together community leaders, entrepreneurs, educators, farmers, youth, local government and health professionals interested in bridging community through food.
The organization hosting this event, Community Food Strategies, works to empower local food councils with knowledge and organizational capacity to positively impact a community’s local food and farm economy. “Because we have local food councils from all over the state attending this conference, we are happy to host the event at the Rocky Mount Event Center, which is easily accessible for many of our participants.” Says Michelle Aronson, Interim Communications Manager for Community Food Strategies.
The Community Food Strategies team consists of food systems experts that provide leadership and technical support to communities interested in food council development across North Carolina.
