Afternoon Tea with artist Gauri Singh Includes Movie Screening

The Franklin County Arts Council invites the public to enjoy an Afternoon Tea with artist Gauri Singh. The tea is October 15, 2016, 3-5pm, and the event is free including refreshments. Tes will befollowed by screening of the film Welcome to North Carolina! Our Glorious State, directed by Gauri Singh.

The Afternoon Tea and movie event location is the FCAC Headquarters, 22 S Main Street, in Franklinton NC. The event is free. Free popcorn and sodas will be served.

The Welcome to North Carolina film highlights the facts of NC with emphasis on the state as a Land of Spirituality, Diversity, and Beauty.

The film is a short patriotic documentary film about North Carolina’s natural beauty, pioneering and ground breaking historical events, and spiritual diversity and serenity.   The film is narrated by Gauri Singh Puri and Ketki Puri Handa, and produced and directed by Gauri Singh.  It showcases how the gift of life that the state of North Carolina brings is the reason it is held is such high reverence.  A first generation immigrant experience has been captured, and along the route are glimpses of varied geography, music and culture that makes up their home here in our spectacular North Carolina.

As a part of this event, Gauri will entertain questions about the film and talk about her passion as a film artist.

Gauri Singh is an actress and independent filmmaker. She also describes herself as a humanitarian, poet, and media person-in-the-making. She was born in Himachal Pradesh, India, and currently lives in North Carolina.

Organizers of this tea, Franklin County Arts Council, is a nonprofit organization passionate about serving our diverse community in developing all areas of the arts. The Council website is www.fcacarts.org.
