The Town of Wendell, North Carolina, is the site of many Fall events. Be sure to check out their great variety of festivals and happenings, organized by the Wendell Chamber of Commerce, St. Eugene’s, the town, and other groups during the cooler weather of September-November.

Vendor opportunities or sponsorships may be available for some events. Where known, a vendor contact is included.

Wendell Treat Trail

Bring the kids — in costume or not — to the Wendell Community Park and walk along the Treat Trail set up in the community park. The trail is non-scary, designed for visitors 12-years-of-age and under.  In addition to walking the trail to gather treats, there will be hay rides, and local business people for Mom and Dad to get to know.

Wendell Community Park is located at 601 W Third Street, in Wendell NC. The event is Friday, October 28, 2016, 5-8pm. Bring a treat bag, a parent or guardian, and optionally a flashlight. Costumes are optional, but if you wear one you’re adding to the fun!

Admission to the Treat Trail is free.

The Parks and Rec folks are seeking local businesses to participate.  Businesses set up a table and on October 28, 2016, they are part of the trail, handing out candy and goodies to local youngsters. The trail will be twice as long for 2016. The 2015 Treat Trail drew over 1,200 children and their families — three times the number originally expected.  Plan accordingly for business cards, pencils, or logo items that your business plans to pass out during the event. Businesses interested in being a part of the trail should contact Jeff Polaski at 919.366.2266.

Wendell Harvest Festival

** UPDATE: On October 4, this update was posted by the Wendell Chamber and others:  CHANGE OF PLANS!!! THE BOARD IS CHANGING THE DATE OF THE 2016 HARVEST FESTIVAL TO THE NOVEMBER 4-5, 2016!**

The 89th Wendell Harvest Festival is a 2 day family oriented festival scheduled for November 4-5, 2016 — rescheduled from October 7-8, 2016. If you haven’t been here for the past 88 years, stop by this year and enjoy the fun!

The town square is surrounded by 90 plus vendors. On stage performances include the Switch Friday night, 2Digh4 Saturday afternoon, and Backyard Grooves Saturday night. The festival also includes Bingo and a live art auction — from the Tobacco Art History Contest mentioned above.

The harvest parade will begin the festival Saturday morning.

This festival is centered at the J. Ashley Wall Town Square, corner of Third Street and Cypress Street, in Wendell NC. Just head for Third Street and the festival attractions will be easy to spot, and spreading along the streets and around the Square.

For 2016, the inflatables play are will be “all ages.” There will be a designated area just for the little ones, and then another area for the bigger kids/adults.  How cool is that? Lamm Events is partnering with the Wendell Chamber to create this whole-family play space.

Check out the 4th Annual Pumpkin Derby Race too!

Forms for the parade and pumpkin derby are on this Chamber link.

More information on this annual festival, including sponsorship information, may be found on the Wendell Chamber page here.

Vendors, call Tracie Hicks / the Chamber at 919.365.6318 to find out more about vendor spots at the Wendell Harvest Festival.

Ed. Note: Our family has gone to this festival many times. There are so many vendors, with locally made products we grab for the winter, and arts and crafts handy and unusual. It makes for a fun time, and our kids and grandkids always found something that they wanted to eat or check out.
