Mudcats Star Wars Promotions

April 29-30, 2016, the Carolina Mudcats baseball games are Star Wars themed — there will be Star Wars themed Mudcats jerseys and an appearance by the 501st Legion Carolina Garrison. A Star Wars Jersey Auction is planned April 29, 2016, benefitting the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Eastern NC. Then, for the April 30, 2016, game, there will be a “Star Wars Lightsaber Giveaway” at Five County Stadium, 1501 NC-39, Zebulon NC. Knightdale Drama

Knightdale Repertory Theatre and ITS Troupe 7149 are presenting “Fame! the Musical” at the Knightdale High School of Collaborative Design, 100 Bryan Chalk Lane, in Knightdale NC.
A performance is scheduled for April 29, 2016,  7-9:30pm. Adult tickets are $10; student tickets $8; and teachers and under 5 are free. Tickets available via the school website.

Air Show at Cherry Point

Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point will host the 2016 air show “Celebrating 75 Years” April 29, April 30, and May 1, 2016. The air show is being held at the air station, located aboard the east coast’s premiere Marine Corps jet base, located in Havelock NC.

Chicken Plate Sale

April 30, 2016, starting at 11am and running until plates are gone.

The fee for the BBQ plate is $8.  Plates taken to-go include a half-chicken, potatoes, coleslaw, bread, and cake.  Dine-in, and receive free beverages too.

2016 Springfest and Plant Sale

This Nash County event is April 30, 2016, 10am-4pm. It is organized by, and being held at, the Country Doctor Museum, 6642 Peele Road, in Bailey NC.

TAIP Lab Scratch Night

Scheduled for April 30, 2016, this acting lab is scheduled to start at 7:30pm, at Barton College’s Kennedy Family Theatre, 200 Atlantic Christian College Drive NE, in Wilson NC.

Garden Plant Giveaway

April 30, 2016, Zebulon’s own Grow And Share is holding a giveaway starting at 10am until plants are gone. Prom for Special Populations

Pay It Forward Civitan Club and the city of Rocky Mount Parks and Recreation department are partnering on a prom for special populations — for high school juniors and seniors, as well as adults. The Prom is on April 30, 2016, 6-9pm, at the Rocky Mount Shrine Club, located at 320 Airport Road, in Rocky Mount. Community Recycling Day

Zebulon Public Works is holding this event on April 30, 2016, from 9am to noon, at the Town of Zebulon Municipal Complex, 1003 N Arendell Avenue, Zebulon NC.  They are accepting household items which cannot be discarded in the landfill for proper disposal – paint, pesticides/herbicides, motor oil, antifreeze, electronics, fluorescent lamps, tires off the rim, appliances, batteries, and televisions. Health Fair

Chi Rho Omega Chapter is partnering with Zebulon Baptist Church and Rex Healthcare to sponsor the Fourth Annual Health Fair.  This event serves to promote health awareness in the Zebulon area by providing education and disease prevention resources.  Several community vendors and healthcare providers will be available providing education, screenings and assessments in all aspects of health, wellness, fitness and lifestyle improvements.  This event is FREE and open to the public. Fair Housing Month Workshop-Steps to Homeownership

Spring Birds of Battle Park

Join Imperial Centre for a free bird walk at Battle Park as week look for signs of migratory birds such as flycatchers, thrushes, warblers and tanagers. This event is April 30, 2016, 7-10am. Meet at the Battle Park boat ramp parking lot, Rocky Mount NC.

The local nesting birds will be present and should be easily found in late April. You will have the opportunity to learn about current protection efforts concerning our fine feathered friends as they wing their way each migration season. Master Gardener Plant Sale

The annual spring plant sale is April 30, 2016, 8am-noon. It is at the Nash County Arboretum, 1006 Eastern Avenue, in Nashville NC.  The Master Gardeners plan to have annuals, perennials, trees, shrubs, vegetables and herbs for sale.
