This weekly things-to-do listing may include in-person events in the North Carolina counties of Edgecombe, Franklin, Nash, Johnston, Wake, Wayne, Wilson, or beyond — unique coastal or mountain events are occasionally included.

Things to do may be rescheduled/delayed or locations changed. Contact an event’s organizer directly to confirm. While most listed events are free, ticketed or fee-for-entry events may be included and its fee/price noted. Any online offerings (watch from home) events that may be included will be marked as online.

Farm Credit Farmers Market: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, April 29-May 1, 2021

The Farm Credit Farmers Market, which will be open Thursday (10am-5:30pm), Friday (10am-5:30pm), and Saturday (9am-2pm).

Franklin County Farmers Market:  Friday, April 30, 2021 @ 9am-1pm

Come and pick up locally grown food from local farms, fresh eggs, and more. Check with market directly for any schedule changes related to weather and other factors.

Clayton’s Last Friday Night Market:  Friday, April 30, 2021 @ 6pm

The last Friday of each month, downtown Clayton will offer art, music, shopping, community, and more.

Weekly offerings from farms, artisans, and crafters at this year-round farmers’ market.

Children’s Book Week: Reading is A Superpower: Saturday, May 1, 2021 @ noon-2pm

Children and their families are welcome to come dressed as their favorite book character or superhero, or not, and join a parade (1pm). The library will offer a “Superhero Training Camp” with games, an obstacle course, and “Make a Superhero” craft (noon-2pm). NOTE: Mask make at home kits are available from the Library anyone who would like one for the parade.

Children’s Day/Book Day:  Saturday, May 1, 2021 @ 2-4pm
