Family Movie Night

Spend an evening with the family and catch up with the neighbors at a movie!  Bring a blanket or a chair and enjoy quality time with family and friends while watching a free, wholesome movie at the Wendell Community Center.

Wendell Wonderland

Kick-off the holiday season the first Friday in December with Wendell Wonderland. Visit with Santa Claus; experience historic downtown with a trolley ride; be amazed by our magnificent Light Show containing more than 400,000 lights and holiday music; participate in activities such as the cookie walk, live nativity, artisans showcasing their talents, and cantata.  Visit the downtown businesses and see how they decorated for the holiday and then walk over to J Ashley Wall Square and hear live music performances, and so much more!

If you can’t make it to Wendell Wonderland on the first Friday in December, the Light Show is open to the public throughout the holiday season! Located in Downtown Wendell at Third and Cypress Streets, this choreographed light show will come alive with dancing lights and music beginning Wednesday before Thanksgiving and will run nightly through New Year’s Eve. The show will be canceled if rain or snow occurs. Event hours are 6-10 p.m. on Sundays through Thursdays and 6-11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.  Additional information about the Light Show available at:  Lake Myra Christmas Lights or Facebook  here.

Wendell Historical Society 2017 Historic Wendell Christmas Tour

The Wendell Historical Society 2017 Christmas Home Tour tickets are available for $10 from:

  • Baynes & Company, 3910 Wendell Boulevard;
  • Chocolates by Whitney, 235 Cook Street;
  • Wendell Historical Society members; or
  • Wendell Historic Post Office, 101 E. Fourth Street, on the day of the tour.

Four of the homes are located within one block:

  • Brian & Tabitha Pace, 3300 Wendell Boulevard
  • Bob & Kathryn Dail, 108 Wendell Falls Parkway
  • Bill Wilkes, 124 Wendell Falls Parkway
  • Bradley & Rachael Barham, 125 Wendell Falls Parkway

Other houses are:

  • Michael & Jessica Hancock, 3500 Wendell Boulevard
  • Don & Chris Mailliard, 246 W Third Street

In addition, two other sites will be open to the general public (without a tour ticket) as well as tour participants during tour hours:

  • Historic Wendell Post Office, 101 E Fourth Street, Wendell, where the tour begins.  The post office will be decorated with items from past Christmases.
  • Chocolates by Whitney’s, 235 Cook Street, originally Joseph’s Store, where members of the Joseph family will share photos and other memorabilia.

Join us for a holiday shopping experience you won’t forget! Shop local vendors in our gorgeous model homes, while enjoying coffee, wine, and beer to get you in the holiday spirit.
