In September 2018, the Wilson County Public Library will offer a wide variety of free programs for the community at the Main Library and branch libraries. There is truly something for everyone in this month’s lineup.

Founded in 1939, the Wilson County Public Library engages the community and enhances the minds of all ages with programs, lectures, classes, and entertainment.

Main Library

The main library address is 249 Nash Street W, Wilson NC. The Main Library hours are Monday through Wednesday, 9am-9pm; and Thursday through Saturday, 9am-6pm.

Marshmallow Engineering*

Come prepared to build and use your imagination.  All LEGOs are provided.  Recommended for ages 4+.  No registration required.

*Program funded by a Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) Grant awarded to Wilson County Public Library for the creation of a CrAFT Studio—Creativity, Art, Fabrication, and Technology lab.  The CrAFT Studio will combine the MakerSpace movement with STEAM subjects through robotics, coding, crafts, electronics, and more.

Wilson County Genealogical Society Meeting

Tuesday, September 25, 2018 @ 7pm

Brian Grawburg, a local resident and genealogist, will present “Out of Sight: A Project to Photograph Hidden Cemeteries in Wilson County.” He will talk about his work to find and document hidden cemeteries and graves throughout Wilson County. Grawburg’s use of a 1937 Leica rangefinder camera allows him to put the images on film which he then develops himself. The talk should be of interest to not only family history researchers but also photography enthusiasts.  All invited.  No registration required.
