On Saturday, September 28, 2019, Maize in the City (MITC), voted Denver’s favorite corn maze, will open for the 2019 season.
Built into a 40-acre corn field, MITC is a convenient, fun, rural fall event the whole family can enjoy only 15 minutes from downtown Denver at 10451 McKay Road, Thornton, Colorado.
A family operation, MITC features a number of attractions including free attractions.
Get lost in your own backyard as you navigate your way through the 20-acre Crazed Corn Field Maze with the help of the customizable smartphone trivia game. Let the little ones take the lead as you make your way through the Mini Maze – a maze cut into a shorter corn stalk field.
Have your little ones ride through the field on the barrel train, race through the obstacle bouncer, and visit and feed animals in the petting zoo. Bounce above the corn stalks on our pumpkin bounce pillow — the largest in the state — and then test your aim as you launch ears of corn 100+ feet across the field.
Swim through the free corn kernel box or have your kiddos take a turn conquering the playground.
Said Gina Palombo-Dinkel, Maize in the City co-owner:
“Each year we build our site from the ground up giving us the unique opportunity to reinvent and add new and exciting attractions for families to enjoy. This year, we’ll be adding a new tractor tire climb attraction that’s free for families coming onsite.”
Farmer-owned MITC also offers locally grown pumpkins, gourds, Indian corn, and other fall décor for purchase. Choose from 15 variety of pumpkins and gourds set in the easy-pick field.
Maize in the City is open select dates from September 28 through October 31, 2019. Visit maizeinthecity.com for exact dates and times, plus attraction and site details.
