Residents are invited to take part in the Twin Counties Big Sweep Day on Saturday, September 28, 2019, 9am-noon.

Teams will meet at the boat ramp in Rocky Mount’s Battle Park, 1308 Falls Road, Rocky Mount, NC and River Front Park, Panola Street, Tarboro, NC.

The Big Sweep is an annual event that allows civic groups, schools and neighborhoods to clean up litter in the Twin Counties. More than 3,000 pounds of trash and debris have been collected during past clean-ups.

Big Sweep Day is in conjunction with the NC Department of Transportation Office of Beautification 2019 Fall Litter Sweep (through September 28) and a month-long North Carolina Big Sweep effort that runs through October 16, 2019.

Said Stephanie Collins, Keep America Beautiful of Nash and Edgecombe Counties Coordinator:

“We need everyone to come out and help clean up our community, one piece of litter at a time.”

For more information on any of the initiatives, call Keep America Beautiful of Nash & Edgecombe Counties at 252.467.4960.
