The Love One Another program is holding a fashion show in Wilson, North Carolina, and the Call for Models is open. Would you love to walk the runway? Now is the time for parents to sign up their kids to model — or join them on the runway — at an exciting new fashion show.
The program is seeking kids ages 5-18 who are interested in modeling during the Don’t Judge Me Fashion Show, scheduled for the evening of November 11, 2018.
Love One Another is a group for teenage females, ages 13-18. The group provides a platform for young ladies to be able to experience new things in life. They are able to participate in several community events and gain volunteer hours. Love One Another holds activities to enhance different strengths and sometimes build weaknesses.
At least two events are held each year, run by the teenagers, and overseen by the program founder, Ruby Yolanda, who is also known in the community through her employment as a Deputy in the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office.
Ms. Yolanda and the teens discussed options for a Fall event, and the Love One Another program teens wanted to create a Fall fashion show. They gave it the name, “Don’t Judge Me.”
Said Ms. Yolanda:
“I stand in the background as an overseer. I do this so that the girls can learn leadership and attach another skill to their resume. My number one goal is to build confidence in these young ladies to know that they can do anything they put their minds to doing. And as long as they give 110% the outcome will be great, every time.”
With support from renouned event organizer, Crystal Richardson of Sweetriches, the teens have arranged the venue and vendor space, opened registration for vendors, selected judges, issued the call for models, and scheduled live music by Jay Swagg as part of the fashion show evening.
For those interested in being models for the evening, or participating as vendors, registration must be completed on or before October 15, 2018, and vendor payments ($25 per table) are due by that day. Register as a model or vendor using this online fashion-show form.
The Don’t Judge Me show is Sunday, November 11, 2018, 6-8pm. The location is the Siri Event Venue, 3456 Airport Blvd NW, Wilson NC. Doors open at 5:15pm. Models and performers must arrive by 4pm.
This event is free and open to the public. Mark the date on your calendars now and attend this Wilson NC event. Enjoy an evening of fashion, music, and community, and support the girls at Love One Another.
