The Knightdale Chamber of Commerce held its quarterly “Red Ribbon Showcase” —  a group ribbon-cutting ceremony for new “small business” Chamber members.

Members and the public were invited to meet these new Chamber members at the Knightdale Station Park’s Pavilion today, Thursday, April 13, 2017, 11:30am-1pm.

Mayor James Roberson also attended to congratulate and welcome the new Chamber members to the Knightdale community.  Mayor Roberson shared comments and extended his appreciation of the value that small businesses play in our local economy.

Participating Chamber Businesses were:

  • Robbi Laney, Mutual of Omaha
  • Ashley Veglahn, Hook Line & Threader
  • Raushawna Price, John Maxwell Leadership Coach
  • Sheila Lassiter, The DA GENIE, LLC
  • Catherine Tankersley, C&A’s Tailor Shop

Note: Participants are listed in the order that they are seen holding the red ribbon in the above photo, identified from left to right.

One of the benefits of joining the Knightdale Chamber is a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for a business grand opening or ground-breaking event. Some businesses, though, do not have an office or storefront. Entrepreneurs, independent business people, very small businesses, and home-based businesses participate in events like this Red Ribbon Showcase as a benefit to ensure that they are able to capitalize on the exposure offered by a public ribbon-cutting event.

Chamber members who participate in the Showcase have a tabletop display for their business. During the event, each is also given the opportunity to give a brief presentation about their products and services.

The Showcase provides these unique businesses a chance to get media exposure, connect with potential customers and network.  Visitors to the Knightdale Station Park during Food Truck Thursdays were able to learn more about Knightdale business offerings and network while enjoying some light refreshments.

Ed. Note: In addition to the five new Chamber members represented at this event, Sam’s Club provided food during the Red Ribbon Showcase.

Additionally, the Red Ribbon Showcase was planned to coincide with Food Truck Thursday, with MoonRunners of Garner NC serving curbside at the Pavilion.

Just one editor’s opinion, but I thought that their Deep Fried Avocado with balsamic dip was delicious.
