Nash Arts Hosting Camps, Photography Show

Nash Arts is a nonprofit based in Nashville NC. The organization “celebrates, promotes and produces artists and arts activities, provides support to other area arts organizations and encourages and generates arts education in order to enhance the quality of life in Nash County.”

Activities this summer include children’s day camps and a special exhibit by a Wilmington NC photographer. The full NashArts calendar is online at www.nasharts.org/events.html.

Summer Learning Opportunities for Children

Nash Arts is offering Summer Camp options covering art, music, dance, and drama.

The “Paint Party” camp is instructed by local artist Kim Valentine.  Her biography is online at colorfulspirits.com/about.

“Basic Drawing & Intro to Pencil & Ink” is taught by Lisa Eason.

“Guitar Camp for Beginners” is instructed by Nashville’s own Meredith Davis, who has performed at Nash County’s Got Talent and the Blooming Festival.

“Drama Camp” will be taught by Jim Lee, author/composer of “Letters from Laura” and playwright for “Keeping Score.”

The “Dance Camp” will be led by Bethany Williams.

Classes run several days and cost between $60 and $70 per child. The Nash Arts Summer Camp flyer is included below. Classes are shown along with dates and registration deadlines.

Two craft-oriented camps are also planned. Be sure to register children prior to the deadline shown with each camp’s details.

Talented crafter Robin Michael is teaching “Crafty Crafts Camp” and “Fun with Crafts.” More about Robin may be found on her Facebook page.

Photo Exhibit and Reception

A Photography show featuring the work of Doug Dupuis of Wilmington NC will be on display in the Nash Arts Center throughout the month of June.

A reception with the photographer — free and open to the public — is being held June 10, 2016, 5:30-7:30pm.
