One lump or two? Would you like Wi-Fi with that?  Stop by for a tea break at the Oak Park tea room. For about five dollars, you can get a pot of tea, free Wi-Fi, and a comfortable place to relax and regenerate.

If you’re a tea lover, or just need a break, Oak Park Tea Room includes tables and chairs, couches, comfy nooks, and even a tea room inside the tea room for private parties. Whether working on the Wi-Fi or relaxing with a cup of chai, Oak Park has a comfy chair or a table waiting.

A variety of hot teas are available. Spicy, sweet, flower, chai, or citrus teas are brewed just for you by the cup or pot. The Tea Room opened just a few weeks ago on early June 2016. The tea room is open Tuesday-Saturday, 10am-4:30pm.

Tasty baked pastries vary from fruity scones to chocolate red velvet and vanilla bean cupcakes. Or, grab a giant cookies — several inches in diameter and three-quarter inch thick — available in chocolate chunk and other flavors.

“Fish and chips” are available with your tea, which is a mix of Goldfish crackers and snack chips. Tasty, cute, and indicative of the relaxed environment in the tea room. Chat with other guests, shop owner Miss Lou, or tea server Brianna, or find a quiet nook to drink your tea in peace and quiet.

Drink tea on a regular basis? Customers have the option to become part-owners, too. Buy a tiny percentage of ownership in the tea room and you can enjoy your tea from a fancy cup and saucer alongside your pretty pot of tea.

On Sundays, Oak Park Tea Room is closed, but they still open their doors to host a growing church. Lisa and Keith Wagner from Zebulon NC have started churches across the globe, and now have planted their new, millennial-oriented church, in Raleigh. Oak Hill Church meets Sundays for service at 10:30am in the tea room, where parishioners can sip a cup of tea or nibble a pastry while taking in the sermon. Scones and cookies are donated by the tea room in support of the new church. The service — a sermon, prayer, and music — lasts about an hour, with the group often staying in the tea room to chat afterward.

The Oak Park Tea Room is in the Oak Park Shopping Center, 5208 Hollyridge Drive, Raleigh NC.
