The Rocky Mount Railroad Museum is holding its annual “Membership Drive and Dinner” on Saturday, January 11, 2020, starting at 2pm, and the public is invited to attend.

This annual event will be held in the Warner Room at Braswell Memorial Library, 727 N Grace Street, Rocky Mount, North Carolina.

Appetizers including hot hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be served. The guest speaker will be Peter Varney, Rocky Mount Assistant City Manager, retired.

For those interested in attending this museum event, or becoming a member of the Rocky Mount Railroad Museum, contact Joyce Edwards Dantzler via email. RSVPs are due by January 8, 2020.

The Railroad Museum’s mission is to preserve the history and impact of railroads on the city of Rocky Mount, and honor the workers of the Atlantic Coast Line, Seaboard Coast Line, and CSX.  The museum will display historical trains and railroad memorabilia and pictures. There will be a model train running with vintage trains on display.

Children’s drawings of trains will be displayed on bulletin boards.

Railroad Museum volunteers also educate the public through displays of model trains at various local events.

Visit RMRailroad.org to learn more about this 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and its planning for exhibits at the city’s Helen P. Gay Historic Train Station.

Museum membership is $25 and applications may be requested during the January 11 gathering.
