The Stantonsburg Bicentennial Festival is scheduled for September 15-16, 2017, starting at 10am, with activities continuing through 5pm. This family-oriented event will be held at the Town Park, located at Macon Avenue and Main Street, in Stantonsburg, North Carolina.
The event is open to the public. Come and help “The best little town in North Carolina” celebrate its 200-years anniversary. This town Bicentennial offers plenty of fun and activities for the kids, as well as parents and seniors.
On Friday, September 15, there will be a concert in Town Park with Spare Change. The band is scheduled 6-10pm, with a grand fireworks show to follow.
On Saturday, September 16, there will be live entertainment by The Embers (1-4pm), arts and crafts, a car show, and dozens of vendors from across NC showcasing their products and talents. Food vendors will be on hand, including churches offering food for sale.
Note that as of this writing, 4 or 5 of the 12×12 vendor spaces are still available but expected to fill quickly. The fee for a spot is $25 for regular or food vendors. Food vendors must also apply to the health department at an additional fee of $75.
The local Volunteer Fire Department, EMS, police, Red Cross, and Search-and-Rescue units are planning to be on-site with static displays about their town services.
Additionally, the Wilson Co. Auxiliary Communications Team will set up a radio display with HF V/UHF and digital communication demonstrations. Local Scouts will get a chance to get on-the-air to fulfill their radio merit requirements. The general public will have a opportunity, via “ham” radio, to try and make contact with other stations around the world.
