A new feature film written by Adam Tarsitano and starring Jason Michael Carroll is filming this month in Wake County NC. The casting calls for Strings – The Movie have drawn extras from Wendell, Raleigh, and surrounding areas, with Eastern NC businesses serving as filming locations and backdrops for the film.

The drama stars Jason Michael Carroll (well-known musician originally from Youngsville NC),  Katie Garfield (known for Birth of a Nation), and Johnny Orr (Country-crossover Rock musician from Raleigh NC). It is being directed by Patrick Dunnagan and Robert Wagner (Brag ‘N East by Wagz Film). Adam Tarsitano is Executive Producer, and Mr. Wagner Producer.

According to an online post by Adam Tarsitano, “I couldn’t be happier with the team we’ve assembled on this project. With all of our continued hard work, the sky is the limit.”

Casting calls issued April 8, 2016, requested extras to fill a variety of roles.  Extras included a used car salesman, car buyers, bar crowd, shoppers, diner patrons, bus riders, and miscellaneous men and women 18 or older. While extras were unpaid for the shoots, it gave folks in the area a chance to step into this local production.

According to local business owner, Annette Pearce of Wendell Antiques and More, the film crew has shot on location at Wendell businesses Swaim Law, PLLC (on Wendell Boulevard) and Brown Bag Bagels, LLC (on N Main Street). As of April 14, 2016, filming was moving — at least briefly — to a Raleigh bar.

Watch for the film crew working around the area, check local business Facebook pages for updates on their experiences with the crew, and watch for Strings – The Movie to hit area screens in the future.
