A series of lunch and learns organized by the Twin Counties Young Professionals group provides information, networking, and lunch too. The Slate of Eight seminar series is held every second Friday, until December. The next seminar is Boost Your Social Impact on  June 9, 2017.

The Twin Counties Young Professionals group, also known as “YoPros”, was formed in 2015 as an outcome of the Here’s to Success Positive Image campaign by eastern NC’s Twin Counties:

Here’s To Success is a regional marketing and communications campaign led by a group of citizen volunteers from Edgecombe and Nash Counties representing diverse backgrounds, age groups, gender, race, professional experience and geography within the two counties.

The group’s goal is to promote a positive image of the area, internally and externally, by telling a new story that celebrates the assets and culture of the community, leverages the diverse array of present-day achievements, and articulates its aspirations for the future. This campaign is made possible by local businesses and caring citizens who are working together to promote regional success.

The purpose of the YoPro group is to provide opportunities for young people who live or work in the region to connect with each other and the community. The Young Professionals group is online at www.twincountiesnc.com/yopro and on Facebook at www.facebook.com/herestosuccess.

There are no requirements to join the group. They welcome the young at heart and those who want to support the group’s efforts. Everyone is welcomed to attend all of their events.

Even though the group promotes the Twin Counties area, participants don’t have to be “from here.” Anyone interested in the area is welcome to come to lunch and learns and other events. Gain business knowledge, and find out more about the Twin Counties.

“Slate of 8” refers to the total of eight seminars in the YoPro series.

The next seminar is described below, along with a link to register. After June, the group will have additional lunch and learns listed here. With any questions, contact Desiree Dolberry at 252.973.1202.

Slate of 8 Series: Boost Your Social Impact

Millennials are a generation more likely to pay slightly more for a product with a good cause compared to a product without one (think, Tom’s shoes). This type of social awareness is important to your development as a Intrapreneur because you are likely to be more intentional about your lifestyle while remaining grateful and conscious of others. This seminar will explore how you can make even more of a social impact in your everyday life.

Register for this seminar on June 9, 2017, beginning at 12:30pm. This seminar features two speakers:

The seminar takes place at North Carolina Wesleyan College’s Gateway Technology Center, 3400 N Wesleyan Blvd, Rocky Mount NC.
