Volunteers Needed to Deliver Meals

Volunteers are needed for a local Home Delivered Meals Program. The Nash County Department of Aging is in need of volunteers to help deliver meals to homebound senior citizens who live in Spring Hope, North Carolina.

If you are interested in making a difference for local seniors, please contact Brenda Shields at 252.459.1367.

According to the Department of Aging’s website, “The Home-Delivered Meals program currently serves the towns and communities of Bailey, Middlesex, Samaria, Castalia, Corinth, Spring Hope, Nashville, West Mount, Red Oak, and Dortches. Recipients of this service are homebound and receive a hot lunch time meal Monday through Friday.”

In addition to the Home Delivered Meals Program, the department also provides lunches at a Rocky Mount NC retirement community, and organizes a Dinner Club for mobile seniors to eat together monthly at a community restaurant.

While this call for volunteers was shared in July 2015, volunteer opportunities are likely ongoing. Call to find out how and where volunteers are needed today!

More details and contact information is online at the Nash County Department of Aging page: nc-nashcounty.civicplus.com/index.aspx?nid=120.
