The Town of Zebulon’s Parks and Recreation Department plans movies, fitness classes, and special events. Coming up in early 2017, enjoy multiple free events oriented toward families and children.
Event locations include the Zebulon Community Center, Whitley Park, and the Zebulon Municipal Complex.

Free Happenings
Family Movie Nights
The Zebulon Parks & Rec presents a free movie for all ages — plus popcorn. Movies are shown at the Zebulon Community Center, 301 S Arendell Ave, Zebulon NC. A parent or guardian must be present with children.
Scheduled dates for these free movies are January 13, February 10, March 10, and April 14, 2017. Movies begin at 7pm. Movie titles are not publicized; call 919.823.0432 and ask what is playing.
Superhero Day
This special day of costumes and super powers is Saturday, April 29, 2017, starting at 10am. The location is Whitley Park, 601 N. Wakefield Street, Zebulon NC.
Children ages 3-9 are encouraged to join the fun and wear their favorite superhero costume. The event includes games, mask making, and “superhero leaps, jumps, speed, and strength on the Superhero Obstacle Course.”
Cards
The Community Center offers card games on Tuesdays and Fridays, 10am-2pm. Cards, other supplies, and coffee are provided. Call the Community Center to find out more about ages to participate in these free games.
Super Salads
The Community Center provide a house salad and participants are asked to bring a healthy side disk and share a healthy lunch together. This free luncheon is scheduled for March 17, 2017, at noon. Registration is required by March 10.
Easter Egg Hunt
Why wants to hunt some Easter eggs? Join the fun at the Zebulon Municipal Complex 1003 N Arendell Avenue, Zebulon NC. The date is Saturday, April 1, 2017, starting at 10am. Call for information on ages that may participate.

Pictures with the Easter Bunny
The day before the Easter Egg Hunt, 4×6 photos with the Easter Bunny are being taken by Kent Massey. Bring a canned food item to be donated to participate. The date is Friday, March 31, 2017, starting at 4pm and running until 6pm. The location is the Zebulon Community Center.
Not Free, But Looks Like Fun
Kids in The Kitchen
Age 8-12 are invited to join Chef Victor Moore as he creates foods like sliders, walking tacos, and more in the kitchen with the kids.
Chef Moore will emphasize “cleanliness, food prep, and fun.” The location is the Zebulon Community Center.
Program size is limited, so call and register ASAP. Sessions are planned for February and March, with a $25-30 fee to participate.
