The city of Rocky Mount is currently preparing for the potential impact from Hurricane Dorian. Residents are encouraged to follow the news closely and to stay tuned to different media for updates on facility and street closings, shelter information, and more.

Residents may follow the city’s updated information by visiting www.rockymountnc.gov, Facebook at www.facebook.com/citybeat, and on Twitter (cityofrockymtnc). Updated information on the city’s website may be found under press releases and under news, located on the city’s homepage. General information on generator safety, flooding, the restoration of power, items that should be included in your emergency supply kit and more can be found on the city’s Emergency Information page. Residents may also monitor the river levels from the homepage of the city’s website.

All Suddenlink customers may tune in to C.I.T.Y. TV19.

Facility closings will be reported on WNCN (CBS), WTVD (ABC), and WRAL (NBC) located in Raleigh, and WNCT (CBS) in Greenville, NC.
