Ed. Note: Announcement of this home and acreage is included below.  I searched for an explanation as to why this portion of a National Park was owned by an individual instead of by the country. This 2010 Denver Post article explains a little bit about it.

Description of the property and marketing materials may be found hereThere is information on the property’s website that describes adjacent acreage that was also owned by an individual but had been sold to another person who gifted that property back to the park. There is also mention of the Park Service wanting this Black Canyon 33-acre property for sale, if someone wanted to purchase it and gift it to them.

Below is the seller’s announcement, released today (July 19, 2017).
