Highly charismatic TV personality and award-winning interior designer Anitra Mecadon will work hand-in-hand with three lucky homeowners who win leading drywall manufacturer National Gypsum’s PURPLE-TO-PERFECT Contest, launching today in honor of National Home Improvement Month.

The PURPLE-TO-PERFECT Contest will offer homeowners the chance to win a free $25,000 media/rec room, $15,000 bathroom, or $10,000 garage renovation personally created for them by Mecadon, who has been National Gypsum’s spokesperson for four years. She is best known as the star of DIY Network’s hit series Mega Dens and numerous other TV shows for DIY and HGTV, including All American Handyman, Behind the Build Dream Home, Behind the Build Smart Home and more.

“Anitra is a creative force of nature and hands-on renovation expert, so we are thrilled to offer three lucky homeowners the chance to work closely with her to fulfill their renovation dreams,” said Jay Watt, National Gypsum’s director of marketing. “Her amazing room renovations feature custom builds, rescued or renovated furniture, home theaters, innovative gaming areas, clever storage solutions and much more.”

To enter, homeowners must create a 1-minute video pitch for why they need a new media / rec room, bathroom or garage, upload it to YouTube and then submit their entries on AskForPurple.com/contest by June 12, 2016. Homeowners may enter in only one category. Potential winners will be notified by July 11, 2016.

“I’m so excited to be part of National Gypsum’s PURPLE-TO-PERFECT Contest and to turn people on to my unique design process,” said Mecadon. “We picked these three spaces because they’re among the top rooms homeowners most want to renovate, and also because each one needs a specific type of PURPLE® drywall to ensure the walls are built to last.”

The contest is open to legal residents of the continental 48 states (excluding Alaska and Hawaii) in the US and District of Columbia, 21 years of age or older, who own their own home.
