The Conservators Center will be closed to the public following an incident where one of the center’s workers was attacked by a lion. The worker died, and the lion was shot.
On December 30, 2018, the Conservators Center in Caswell County, North Carolina, posted a Facebook notice briefly describing what happened, and that the center will be “closed until further notice.”
A nonprofit, the Conservators Center’s website (www.conservatorscenter.org) describes their wildlife-education and rescue efforts, including their rescue of dozens of big cats from squalid conditions in 2004, which was facilitated by the USDA.
