It’s that time of year! Spring brings with it rabies clinics around Eastern NC, including the locations listed here.
If another clinic is scheduled in the five-county area, please email details to the editor.
Rolesville (Wake County)
Rabies and Microchip Clinic is being held May 21, 2016, 9am to noon – at Rolesville Main Street Park, 200 S Main Street, Rolesville NC.
Rabies Vaccinations are $5. Microchips are $10 and include lifetime registration. One-year and three-year vaccinations are the same price; however, documentation of previous year rabies shot is required to get a three-year shot.
This is a Walk-up Clinic — No appointment required, and first come, first served. They do ask for a call in advance from anyone bringing a ferret. Contact for this clinic is Ricci D. Kearney, Volunteer & Outreach Coordinator (wakegov.com) at 919.250.3180.
Clinic will take cash or check, and asks that pet owners bring exact change. If a clinic is cancelled, it should be posted on their Facebook page.
Animals must be older than four months for rabies shots, and controlled in a carrier or on a leash to receive a rabies vaccination or a microchip.
Foy Mart (Nash County)
Foy Mart hosts a rabies clinic for cats and dogs each year. On April 30, 2016, the clinic runs from 9am until noon.
Note that at this location, folks arrive early and start lining up. There is often a large crowd of people and their dogs and cats.
Foy Mart is located at 1329 Tant Road, in Spring Hope NC. Their telephone number is 919.269.0299 (though they host the clinic and a vet runs it).
Distemper or other vaccinations may be available. Check with the vet tech at the site. Animals must be leashed or in carriers. To receive a three-year rabies, previous year tag should be presented.
