A Little Bit of History: Twin County Museum and Hall of Fame

Thanks to the Twin County Museum and Hall of Fame, online at www.twincountyhalloffame.com, local residents can learn about people who made an impact here. One local football player is Jimmy Clack, inducted into sports Hall of Fame in 2006.

A National Football League (NFL) player and community activist, Jimmy Clack played football and basketball at Rocky Mount Senior High and represented the school in the 1964 Shrine Bowl. He earned a degree in history and political science from Wake Forest University in 1969 while playing football and basketball there.

He spent 13 years in the NFL playing nine years with the Pittsburgh Steelers and four years with the New York Giants. As a Steeler, Clack earned two Superbowl rings (1974 and 1975).

As president and CEO of Impact International in Greensboro, he served as a board member or volunteer for area chapters of several nonprofits. Clack died April 7, 2006.
