For the seventh year in a row, the Booker T. Washington Community Center will host a Community Fall Festival. The festival will be Thursday, October 20, 2016, 6-8pm on the baseball field behind the center.

The Booker T. Washington Community Center is located at 727 Pennsylvania Avenue, in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.

The event, sponsored by the city of Rocky Mount Parks and Recreation Department, is open to the public and includes free food, carnival games, a hayride, face painting, and more. A DJ will be on site to provide music and two step teams will perform.

“We have people who look forward to this event every year,” said Heather White, recreation program supervisor at the Booker T. Washington Community Center. Last year, more than 200 community members attended the event, and White is hoping to match or exceed that number.

“Our goal with this event is to provide a fun, family oriented and safe event for our community,” said White. “We just want folks to come out and enjoy themselves.”

For more information or to register, call 252.467.4925. Registration is not required, but recommended to provide an estimated crowd size for food and activity planning.

The historic Booker T. Washington Community Center is a 4.2 acre site located off the Atlantic Avenue Exit of Highway 64. This facility is near the Stith-Talbert Park, which includes a walking trail, baseball field, basketball courts, and a playground. In February 2016, the community center was upgraded with new heating, ventilation and air conditioning system.
