Knightdale Fall and Holiday Events Planned

The Town of Knightdale offers fun for all ages, for humans and their pups, and prepares for the holidays. Upcoming events and parade entry information are included below.

Events year-round plus classes available may be found on the town website, knightdalenc.gov.

Dogtoberfest

This free event is being held Saturday, October 22, 2016, 12-3pm. Bring family, friends, and pups to the Ashley Wilder Dog Park, 810 N First Avenue, Knightdale NC. The event includes vendors, giveaways, a costume contest and 2k9. Plus, grab lunch and a drink from Bam Pow Chow and Gizmo Brew Works! A special thanks to The Vets Pets for sponsoring this event. The fun starts in the grassy area across from the Knightdale Station Park playground and behind Oak City Brewing. The 2k9 will begin at the Ashley Wilder Dog Park at 1pm.

Public Safety Day

Due to weather-related rescheduling, Public Safety Day is also October 22, 2016, 10am-2pm. More details may be found in this article.

Food Truck Thursdays

These special events continue each Thursday through November 17, 2016. The Thursdays are:

  • October 20
  • October 27
  • November 3
  • November 10
  • November 17

Different food trucks are featured weekly. Stop by for lunch (11am-2pm) and dinner (5-8pm) at Knightdale Station Park, 810 N First Avenue, Knightdale NC.

Lunch trucks include Bulkogi, Wandering Moose, Bo’s Kitchen, Fuzzy’e Empanadas, and Stuft. Dinner trucks include Virgil’s Jamaica, Zeke’s Meats, Kings Authentic Philly, Oak City Fish and Chips, and Spanglish. In addition to the lunch and dinner trucks, on most dates there will also be trucks with sweet treats to enjoy at both meals.

Holiday Fair

Interested in shopping for the holidays, but don’t have a lot of time to do it? Come to the Knightdale Recreation Center for the annual Holiday Fair! On Saturday, November 12, 2016, 9am-1pm, local vendors will gather at the Rec Center with a variety of goods to get you started on your holiday shopping. The address is 101 Lawson Ridge Road, Knightdale NC.

Turkey Leg 5k

Registration is open for Knightdale’s Turkey Leg 5k are now open. This annual 5k begins November 24, 2016, at 8:30am, rain or shine. Plan to spend your Thanksgiving morning running before sitting down to family feasts! The race begins at Knightdale Station Park, 810 N First Avenue, Knightdale NC.

Parade Registration

Interested in entering the Knightdale Christmas Parade? Registrations began Monday, October 17, 2016. Christmas on First Avenue events will be held December 2 and 3, 2016.
