FCAC Writers Guild Holds Reading from Third Annual Literary Journal

By Donna Campbell Smith

Franklin County Arts Council’s (FCAC) Writers Guild invites the public to their County Lines: A Literary Journal Launch Party, to be held December 10, 2015, 7-9pm, at Vance Granville College’s Building 4, 8100 NC 56, Louisburg.

This is the third year the guild has published the literary journal. It is a collection of works by writers and artists from all over NC and neighboring states. In addition to the publication the writer’s guild held its first writers contest. The winner of First Annual FCAC Writers Guild Carolina Prize in Writing is RJ McCarthy (photo) with his short story “Do You Love Me?” McCarthy is a member of FCAC Writers Guild and a published author.

There will be readings from County Lines: A Literary Journal by the authors, refreshments, and books will be available for purchase. Proceeds benefit the FCAC Writers Guild.

Prior to the Launch Party, FCAC will join Franklin County Schools from 4-6pm for the third Historic Christmas Cheer Program which will take place in front of the court house in Louisburg. Students will decorate the tree with ornaments fashioned after the quilt patterns from The Quilt Trails of the Tar River.

For more information about any of the FCAC events, call 919.497.6910 or email fcacarts@gmail.com.
