What better place for scares than off a country road in a darkened forest and shadowy fields? That’s what scare-seekers find at Darkside Haunted Estates.

Located at Big Daddys Farms — 11959 NC-222 Hwy W, Middlesex North Carolina (Nash County) — this attraction boasts “16 Different Haunt Experiences” including terrifying structures among the trees for those brave enough to walk along the “Fright Trail.” Or, take the haunted hayride where ghouls await your passage.

Darkside will be open 7-10pm on these dates:

  • September 21, 27, 28, 2019
  • October 4-5, 11-12, 18-19, 25-26, 2019
  • Halloween Night! Thursday, October 31, 2019
  • November 1-2, 2019

Note that on Saturday, October 12, 2019 an additional entertainer will be on-hand to scare visitors: Samhain.

Tickets are available online at app.hauntpay.com/events/darkside-haunted-estates., and reduced-price tickets are available for teachers, students, military, and police.

Follow the Darkside Haunted Estates’ Facebook page for updates. Check out their attraction videos on Facebook, including the new one for The Bundie Hotel.

This attraction is south of downtown Middlesex, just over the Wake County line into Nash County. Travel times may be 10-15 minutes from Zebulon or Bailey; 20-25 minutes from Knightdale; and 30+ minutes from Raleigh and Wilson, NC. Concessions are available at the site.

And… the fun doesn’t end when the spooky season does.

This year, there’s more to do at Big Daddys Farms than just scares. During late November and December 2019, the farm will re-open with “Christmas Lights on the Farm.” Families will be able to visit Santa’s Workshop and the general store, and see Santa and a reindeer. There will be family-friendly hayrides, bonfires, and more.
