You go to see a doctor because you’re not feeling well. After meeting with the doctor, he tells you that you need a certain treatment and that it will help you.
Speaking with a nurse prior to the treatment, she tells you about potential side effects that could happen from the treatment. Although the nurse is nonchalant and says, “we just have to tell you all the things that could happen,” you still have a bad feeling about some possible side effects.
Do you think that you would go forward with the procedure? Do you think that you would take time to get a second opinion? Or, since the nurse didn’t seem concerned, would you push your concerns aside and continue?
